With a Postgraduate Scholarship from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, Graham Stewart is considered one of Scotland's leading silversmiths and silver engravers. Using a variety of smithing techniques - including forging, raising, carving, and engraving, Graham creates beautiful objects that range from very traditional christening spoons and quaichs, to innovative, contemporary interpretations of bowls, candlesticks, teapots, and jewellery. While his public collections include those at the Victoria & Albert Museum (Rabinovitch Collection), London; The Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh; The British Embassy, Washington D.C.; his works have been privately collected by HM The Queen, HRH The Princess Royal, Baroness Thatcher, and Mel Gibson. In addition, Graham was commissioned to produce items for the Millennium Collection at the First Minister's Edinburgh residence and commissioned by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh to create a sculpture for the opening of the new Scottish Parliament building by Her Majesty the Queen. Graham is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths of the City of London. Visit Graham's website for more information and examples of his exquisite work. |
