June Carey began her Art Education in the 1960s at Glasgow School of Art. In 1982 she became a member of Edinburgh Printmakers and began a lifelong love affair with printmaking. Discovering the process of etching brought about a turning-point in her work and career: suddenly she had found her subject, and has been exhibiting her work widely throughout Britain and abroad since. Her works are held in many private collections including those of the Scottish Arts Council, BBC Television, Peter Gabriel, Arts in Fife, and Lady Thyne. She has been elected to serve on the councils for all of the major Scottish societies since 1989 and has received numerous prestigious awards. She is currently inspired by her travels through South East Asia, including India and Indonesia, and by other cultures. June’s constant interest in and support for Artlink Central enables us to auction two stunning pieces this year. More of her unique work can be seen on her website. |
