Lot 28: Lucy Poett - 'The Goose Girl'
A native Scottish artist, educated in both Scotland and England, Lucy Poett studied sculpture under the late Scott Sutherland RSA at the Dundee College of Art. Following a period of realizing Portrait Heads in Bronze, Lucy developed her talent in animal drawings in pencil, culminating in two successful exhibitions of drawings at the Malcolm Innes Gallery, London. Her media repertoire now includes oil paintings and portraits as well as sculptures of birds and animals, of which this sculpture is an exquisite example. Her work can regularly be seen at the Royal Scottish Academy, and she has completed a life size memorial in bronze of Sandy Irvine Robertson, which stands outside the Malmaison Hotel on The Shore in Leith.
