With the support of Stirling Council, Artlink Central delivers the Arts and Transition programme across the high schools of Stirling. This creative programme supports transition from primary to secondary school, with a focus on pupils with additional support needs.

The selected P7’s attend from their primary to high school, visiting their future high school for an art based project once a week for seven weeks for sessions with professional artists.

As 2013 was the Year of Natural Scotland, this year’s ‘Arts & Transition Programme’ tied in  with the theme of ‘celebrating our reputation as a land of outstanding beauty’ by focusing on ‘Hidden Treasures’. Pupils from each school were encouraged to explore ‘hidden treasure/s’ in their local area and to create a piece of artwork to celebrate and highlight these.  Pupils worked in sculpture, ceramics, photographic collage, textiles, and paper and print making. Treasures discovered, have included natural clays, animals, tapestries, waterfalls and Vikings!
