Call for Stirlingshire participants - new arts and dementia programme
On the 14th of April 2015, Artlink Central will start delivering a new, creative, person centred arts programme called ‘The Art of Conversation’ for older people with a diagnosis of dementia still living in their own homes in the Stirling area. The workshops will take place in the Cowane Centre on Tuesday mornings. People will have the choice of three activities:
Making your own textile based artworks,
Creating and playing new music together or
Sharing dance, movement and memories.
‘I am thrilled to bring the experience of our artists who have worked in Forth Valley NHS dementia settings out to the Stirling community for the very first time. We are grateful to Awards for All Scotland, Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland and Austin Hope Pilkington Trust for supporting this exciting opportunity for people diagnosed with dementia’
Sarah Pearson, Artistic programmer for older people, Artlink Central
These innovative community based workshops will create a lively, social environment for the participants which it is hoped will enhance wellbeing and a sense of fellowship and belonging.
For further information and to apply for places please contact Sarah Pearson on 01786 450971 or firstname.lastname@example.org
All sessions are FREE and based at the Cowane Centre, Stirling.
There is some additional support to contribute to travel if needed.
