Children across the Forth Valley have discovered that art isn't just about opening up a new world - it's about recycling it. In a unique series of educational art workshops led by a team of Artlink Central's professional artists, pupils from 10 inclusive schools developed their creative skills by focusing on a theme of sustainability.

'A Renewable World' is geared towards promoting inclusion among children who have limited access to the mainstream curriculum. Their artworks are currently on display at the 'Renewable World' exhibition, the MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling University until April 27th, and can be seen on our website

Among the organisations supporting the project are BBC Children in Need, OI (formerly United Glass) and Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park.

    Artspace: Arts Drop-In Workshops
    Falkirk Artspace Drop-in

Plans are well under way to establish our new Artspace arts drop-in for individuals on the mental health journey in the Denny area. Artspace is designed for individuals to engage in community- based arts projects at their own pace. Already established in Stirling and Falkirk, the Denny Artspace promises to be a new and exciting development, enabling individuals to focus on developing their creative skills and finding out what they can achieve.

Pupils go Green-Fingered with the Arts!

A selection of pupils at Secondary Student Support in Stirling are taking part in Artlink Central's second environmental garden and arts project with the aim of regenerating their own outdoor space. The pupils, all of whom have been have been excluded from school or have social and emotional needs, will take part in a pro-active atmosphere led by professional artists Susan Wade-French and Edward Anderson. Susan and Edward will help engage the pupils in creating garden sculptures, designing landscapes and painting murals. The opening of the new garden will be on June 22nd.

Presentation of Arts, Business and Diversity Award.

Artlink Central together with Clydesdale Bank have won a prestigious national Arts and Business award in London for innovative work in the 'Bank Notes' project.

This partnership provided a valuable opportunity for adults with learning disabilities to access educational, community-based activities. 'Bank Notes' was a programme of music and drama workshops which created innovative ways for participants to explore and understand day-to-day money management; a crucial part of achieving self-esteem, self advocacy and participation in society.

Irene Swankie, Community Affairs Manager at Clydesdale Bank, said: "We are delighted that our partnership with Artlink Central has been recognised and we are very proud that this project has enabled adults with learning disabilities to engage in really high quality creative activities".
